I was worried about the engraving on the ba...I was worried about the engraving on the back of my locket, her initials are in there and I've seen what paste does to fine lines. Nothing got stuck. I did have to go over the clasp twice but that's it. A little goes a very long way, the jar still looks full.

Works, but not a miracle on the worst pieceIt did fine on my chain and two rings, no issues there. The one piece I really bought it for is a tray that's been in the garage and is quite far gone, and on that it made a difference but I could tell it wasn't going to get all the way there without more sessions than I want to do. So three stars feels fair. On jewellery, no complaints.

I'm careful with my mother's thingsI'm very careful with anything of hers and I'd talked myself out of trying anything on this necklace more than once. Read about the foil and baking soda trick and thought absolutely not. This felt safe because you're not submerging anything or scrubbing, you're just wiping. The engraving on the pendant is still sharp.

I was worried about the pearlsMy earrings have small pearls set into the silver and I was worried about getting cream on them. You just keep it on the metal and work around, it's not as fiddly as I thought. Wiped off any stray bits straight away. Pearls are fine, silver is bright.

Not sure what happened with mineI used it on a chain and it looked a bit cloudy after, sort of hazy. I wiped it more and it got better but not properly shiny like the pictures. Maybe I used too much, I did put quite a bit on because it looked like a small amount wouldn't cover it. It's not black anymore so I suppose it did something but I expected more for what I paid.

It's out of the drawerThat's really the whole thing for me. I have a bracelet that was my mother-in-law's and it lived in a drawer because it looked neglected and I felt bad about that but not bad enough to risk wrecking it. The filigree came out cleanThis was my one concern. I have a filigree pendant with a lot of tiny open work and everything I've used before packs it with white residue that stays there forever. Nothing got trapped. I did use a soft cloth and went gently but it lifted right out of the detail.
