Most gadgets get used once and then live in a drawer. Everything on Dalefair has to pass a duller test: a month later, is it still easier than the old way? If it isn't, it comes off the site.

That's why the range is short on purpose. We would rather sell forty things that work than four hundred that photograph well.

How we choose

• One job, done properly. Everything here has one obvious purpose.
• Works the first time. If you need the instructions twice, it has failed.
• Cheap to try, built to last. Small prices, but not the kind that snaps in the first week.
• A person answers. Write to support@dalefair.com and one of us replies, usually the same day.
